Giving Thanks + Thanksgiving Traditions

I know we are all so excited about the yummy food, but putting together the perfect Thanksgiving outfit is my favorite part!

By now I am sure you know that I am obsessed with Gwynnie Bee! I love how simple and fun it is to try new styles every month and then return them once I’ve worn them. I also love that if I find a must-keep item I can purchase it and make it a wardrobe staple.

When it comes to putting together the perfect Thanksgiving day outfit there are a few things I look for. Typically I like to wear a dress because it’s the beginning of the holiday season so dressing up is part of the fun! This year I knew I wanted to wear a fun and holiday-ish print so when I saw this Love & Legend by Addition Elle Plaid Babydoll Mini Dress on Gwynnie Bee I thought it would be the perfect dress to wear on Thanksgiving. I love that the fabric is a super soft jersey which means it’s super stretchy which as we all know is super important for turkey day, but I also love that it’s a high-waist style which I can easily pair with a belt. This dress has such a comfy, cozy yet super stylish vibe making it the perfect dress for Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving.

Picking the perfect Thanksgiving outfit is so much fun, but Thanksgiving is really all about giving thanks and being with people you love. My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is really simple, but it brings me so much joy. I love spending the day with my family, watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade with my nephews, cooking, and then sitting around the table with my family sharing a delicious meal and sharing what we are grateful for. Even though I think traditions are really important, this year I’ve decided to switch things up and travel during Thanksgiving. I think it’s really important to keep traditions, but it’s also really amazing when we can create new traditions. This year I am in LA and I feel blessed because my dad lives here. On Friday, after Thanksgiving, we are planning on decorating the Christmas tree which I am really excited about since this was a tradition from my childhood. When my brother and I were young, we’d decorate the Christmas tree with my dad while listening to Christmas music so it feels really special to be able to do that again this year.

I am wishing all of you a sweet Thanksgiving full of yummy food and lots of love!
