True story: the last two times I cut my hair I went in thinking I would go this short, but my stylists only trimmed the ends. Maybe they sensed I wasn’t ready, but when I was in NY this past Fall, I visited Fourteen Jay, and when I told my stylist that I was ready for a change, she said, let’s do it!
This year has been all about change so it feels symbolic to chop my hair and release the old in order to fully embody the newness – a new relationship with myself (kinda cliche, but true – I’ve spent the last year really getting to know myself and getting out of my comfort zone), a new city (I am excited to officially be living in LA), and all the new adventures that await.
8 inches later, I am in love with my new hair! My stylist also used and introduced me to a few Aveda products which will become my go-to styling products!
Speed Of Light blow dry accelerator spray:
My stylist used Speed of light and we timed my blow dry. It really cut the blow time by 50%. This alone was enough to have me sold. My stylist also shared that the coconut-derived conditioner reduces breakage from blow drying by 93% and the corn-derived humectant moisturizes hair to help protect against thermal damage from blow dryer heat.
Smooth infusion style-prep smoother:
When styling my hair, my stylist paired Speed of light with the Smooth infusion style-prep smoother for the perfect combo. This pre-style treatment creates a smooth surface on hair to make styling easier. Defends against humidity for up to 12 hours.
Shampure thermal dry conditioner:
The last product my stylist recommended was the shampure thermal dry conditioner. I’ve been using it in between washes and I am obsessed. It instantly conditions, detangles and softens hair while a calming aroma with 25 pure flower and plant essences naturally refreshes all hair types and textures.
As we approach the end of the year, it’s the perfect time to gift yourself or some one you love the gift of healthy hair. Head over to the Aveda to check out my favorite products and fun holiday gift ideas.
